Well here it is! I finally moved my website to a different system.
I have been wanting to move to something other than barf for a while now. Barf is a great way to throw up a super simple website. But, I want to build this website out with some educational resources and guides. Stuff like that will require constant attention… Which was a task I wasn’t about to take on in raw HTML.
In an ideal world where I have infinite time (and motivation), I would build this site from scratch with React or Remix. Unfortunately, I am not in that world. So, I went with the world’s most popular website builder: WordPress.
Why WordPress?
Well… Why not WordPress? Sure, it has more than its own fair share of hate online and controversies. But, there is a reason that something like 45% of popular websites are built with it. WordPress is a great way to quickly throw together a website that looks pretty decent. It also allows for easy changes to content and structure. I made this website in half of a day. Granted, I was also learning WordPress while building this site. It could have been done a lot faster by someone who has experience.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I wanted a new website for a long time and I finally just sat down and made myself do it. I am pretty happy with this site. But, more importantly, I will be able to use it as a base to build my educational resources I want to provide. The goal of this website is for me to have a simple place to post blogs when I feel like writing, and for me to host any guides or educational material I want to easily share with people. I have a good feeling that WordPress will do that for me just fine!
